This week's excitement was all about things that are NEW! Our first new thing was the new Pete the Cat book - Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons. We got to read the story, sing the song, make buttons pop off our very own Pete, and practice writing subtraction sentences to show how many buttons Pete had. We had so much fun!
Our second new thing was our new word of the week - scarce. As part of our Economics unit we talked about scarcity. At the end of the week when I asked the kids to write the word scarce in a sentence in a journal, my two favorite sentences were: "Money is scarce because I am broke!" (and no, I did not help with that one!) and "Cookies are scarce because my mom didn't make me any this week!" Ahhhh I love learning and having fun in Kindergarten! =)
