We had such an exciting week in Room 123! On Monday we received 14 chicken eggs at lunch time. By the end of special, 2 had already hatched! When Miss Warriner left school at 6 pm, there were still only 2 chicks, but when she came back at 6:30 the next morning she heard lots of chirping.. there were 13 BABY CHICKS! Luckily, we got to watch one of the last two eggs hatch during recess. Check out the video below - it's so absolutely amazing to actually see!! All week we waited for our last guy to hatch, but he must not have been quite 21 days old.
We had so much fun with the chicks once they were dry! During Chick Hospital visiting hours, we put on our doctor hats and coats and pet the chicks, held them, and watched them hop around. We even picked two top docs every day (two kids who were such great little scientists that through their drawings and writings Mommy and Daddy would be able to know just what the chicks looked and acted like!) to feed the chicks and change their water.
On Friday, we decided to celebrate our chicks going to the farm. What better way to celebrate than to EAT like chicks?! Check out our pictures for pictures of us eating with no hands (and our faces COMPLETELY in our plates!) like we were chicks!!
